Fried Clam Strips with Black Garlic Tarter sauce

Updated: Feb 11, 2021

Dinner doesn’t have to be homemade EVERY night. We’re busy people! But that doesn't mean that you can’t take frozen or pre-prepared items and give them a little more pizazz! Mixing some of our Black Garlic Cloves into a store bought tartar sauce and sprinkling our Black Garlic Salt on frozen clam strips can take a ho-hum dinner to awesome new flavor heights!

What you'll need:

1 container store bought tartar sauce 3 cloves The Black Garlic Company Black Garlic Cloves 2 cups canola oil 1 box/bag frozen clam strips 1 tsp The Black Garlic Company Black Garlic Salt 1 lemon Directions: Mash 3 black garlic cloves into 1/4 cup tartar sauce and stir to thoroughly combine.

Pour canola oil about 1/2 way up, into a heavy bottomed saucepan and bring to 350 degrees.

***If you don't have a candy/deep fry thermometer, don’t worry. Just use a wooden chopstick or wooden spoon and periodically, dip it in the oil. When you see bubbles forming around the wood, your oil is ready.

Carefully put the clam strips in the oil and fry for 90 seconds (give or take 10 seconds, depending on how crisp you like your clam strips). Transfer fried clam strips to a paper towel lined plate or bowl. Quickly season with your desired amount of Black Garlic Salt.

***You want to do this while the clam strips are still glistening with oil so the Black Garlic Salt sticks to them. Squeeze some lemon over the top. ENJOY!

How’s THAT for super easy?!?!
